 Eliza Njowe is 34 years old, married with 3 children

 She stays in Thabwani, Zomba

 

BEFORE JOINING OPPORTUNITY BANK

She started a butchery business in 2011 with $50 she got from selling her farm produce however, the business failed to pick up due to inadequate capital and lack of business management skills

She was a victim of impulse buying because she did not have a better place to save to

 

AFTER JOINING OPPORTUNITY BANK

 Formed Thabwani Premium Trust Bank comprising 7 women

 Got 1st and 2nd loans of $75 and $100 in 1st and 2nd cycle respectively. She is servicing her 3rd loan of $150

 She diversified her business. She also sells plastic ware because it is not a seasonal business

 Managed to open Tsogolo Langa accounts (child’s school savings accounts) for all her children. She is able to service all the accounts

 Managed to finish building her own house

 Helps the husband financially to run the house

 Her goals are to save more into the children’s accounts, to build more houses to let out, and to be the reliable supplier of goat meat in her area.

 She is so thankful to the financial literacy trainings she gets from Opportunity Bank officers
